BOARD OF DIRECTORS MONTHLY MEETING MINUTES
JULY 18, 2018
The BOD meeting was called to order by Don Toth at 7:00 p.m. in the Tanglewood Club House/Bingo area. The meeting opened with the Pledge of Allegiance. Estimated number of residents in attendance was 118. The Mission Statement was read. In addition, all residents are welcome to attend the HOA monthly meetings, whether a current paid member or non-member.
Roll Call was taken by the secretary, Donna Scorse. Those in attendance: Don Toth, Jack Nelson, Jeff Donde, Judith Eckstein, Tom Gunthier, Donna Scorse. The following board members had excused absences: Bob Cartwright, Janet Peterson, Merritt Wiley, Charlie Coupe, Bob Sisson. There was a legal quorum.
Secretary minutes from July’s meeting were sent out to all board members ahead of July’s meeting for review. A motion to approve without changes: Jack Nelson made motion to accept the minutes, supported by Judith Eckstein. The June minutes were posted in the club house.
PRESIDENT’S REPORT: DON TOTH
The HOA filed all necessary paperwork to begin the lawsuit against HTA. Paperwork was filed on 6/20/2018. HTA was served on 6/29/2018. They have twenty days in which to respond; the time for responding will be over tomorrow (July 19th).
EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT REPORT: JACK NELSON
A survey for gate complaints and/or awareness of gate issues continues to be posted on Nextdoor. This will run for another two months.
Advanced Paving will commence work on the roads August 20th and continue through December. Gates are still on hold until after January 2019.
Pond fountains continue to be worked on. The fountain in the back entrance must be pulled from the water for repairs. Tammy has indicated that this is in progress; however, this is the third month of procrastination and there are no results.
A reminder to all that feeding wildlife in the park is illegal and this includes all feral cats. If you have a feral cat issue call Highlands County Animal Control: 863.655-6475. A trap will be delivered to the homeowner and monitored for one week.
Jack Nelson and Don Toth attended an economic round table summit last week. Highlands County demographics in all areas are below the state level.
STATUTORY COMMITTEE REPORT: TOM GUNTHIER
Tom thanked everyone for their kind words of encouragement and prayers as he continues to recover. Board Member, Bob Sisson had an excused absence. There was no direct reporting from the Statutory Committee.
VICE PRESIDENT REPORT: MERRITT WILEY
Merritt had an excused absence.
TREASURER’S REPORT: JEFF DONDE
Balance at the end of June: $18,663.
Balance on Hand: $17,001.
SECRETARY REPORT: DONNA SCORSE
Secretary reported that she and Bob Sisson are working on a zero tolerance policy that will ultimately be adopted to deal with all forms of discrimination and unlawful harassment. The policy will cover harassment in all forms between the HOA and their members and between HOA individual board members. Further details will be forthcoming next month.

SALE OF NEW HOMES AND COMMENTS AND SUGGESTIONS: JUDITH ECKSTEIN

Motion to accept Director’s reports made by Donna Scorse and supported by Tom Gunthier.
Don Toth addressed that Charlie Coupe compiled a list of all homes sold for the last quarter with in-depth sales information. It was agreed upon that this comprehensive information was not appropriate to make public; however, it is available for review between realtors who sell in the park and/or interested home owners. Unanimous voice vote from the Board supported this.
